Benzoyl peroxide paste
Benzoyl peroxide is used as a catalyst and cross-linking agent in some reactions and resins. This type of peroxide is in powder form and it is difficult and dangerous to mix it with other compounds. In general, peroxides are used as polymerization initiators, curing agent catalysts, and as hardeners for unsaturated polyester resins and vinyl monomers.
Specifications
98% or more is in the form of white crystals and 50% is in the form of paste. Soluble in benzene, chloroform, ether, acetone, carbon disulfide, soluble in water and methanol. The active oxygen content is 6.62% and the activation energy is 125 kJ. Flammable in the dry state, when heat, friction, vibration or impurity contamination can cause explosive decomposition. When overheated, an explosion can occur. When in contact with strong acids, strong bases, sulfides, reducing agents, poly and catalysts and promoters such as dimethylaniline and amines, it can react strongly.

The main use of benzoyl peroxide is in the polymer industry, it is used in the paint industry to cure two-component acrylic paint. In the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industry, this substance is combined with antibiotics and used as an ointment to treat acne and pimples. Other uses of this substance are as follows.

It is irritating to the upper respiratory tract. It has a strong, stimulating and sensitizing effect on the skin. It can cause damage by entering the eyes. It is flammable as well as explosive and should be provided with full sensitivity and protection.
